1. Intro

I am very pleasantly surprised by ABC's new Wednesday night sitcom, My Wife and Kids. I'm not a big Damon Wayans fan, but I must admit, he's very good in this show. The acting prowess of the kids could be a bit stronger, but aside from being a bit sappy at times, the writing is strong enough to stand on its own. Tisha Campbell-Martin's hair is going to drive me nuts, but she is a decent foil for Wayans, and in last week's episode where they messed with their son while he was high on marijuana, she proved that she is Wayans's equal when it comes to physical comedy as well.

ABC is showing back-to-back episodes of this show from 8 to 9pm ET for the next couple Wednesdays, so give it a try and see what you think (particularly this week when Ed is a rerun).

The Oblongs is growing on me. Watching it with a friend makes a big difference. The girl with the beak wasn't a bad addition to last night's episode either.

There have been so many early season finales lately. Already gone are Seven Days, That's Life, Grosse Pointe, Popstars, Norm, and Two Guys and a Girl, and there are more finales this week. Weird. My whole schedule is being thrown off.

Have a good week and pleasant Easter if you celebrate it.

2. The poll

Last week's poll found out which cancelled shows people miss the most. This poll got a particularly low turn-out, which leads me to believe that, for the most part, many people don't care at all about the shows that have been cancelled this season.

Of those of you that did vote, over 42% of you agreed with me and missed NBC's Titans the most. I'm not saying that Titans was a particularly good show, it's just that I miss it. Surprisingly, the second most-missed show was Fox's Freakylinks with a little over 30% of the vote. ABC's Madigan Men trailed in third place with slightly over 14% of the vote, and John Goodman's Normal, Ohio struggled in second-to-last place with less than %10 of the vote. Only two whole people missed NBC's failed sitcom, The Michael Richards Show.

This week's poll asks which of the WB's hour-long dramas are your favorite. My apologies to those of you who aren't able to get the WB in your part of the country.

As always, the TKTV weekly poll can be found right on the front page of the site.

4. TV Trivia

Last week's question was: Paula Marshall, who can now be seen as Jack's girlfriend, Katie, on The Steven Weber Show, used to co-star in what short-lived ABC show with Jeremy Piven?

First prize goes to Anil. Congratulations!

Honorable mentions go to Kerry S. and Allan J.

The correct answer was ABC's Cupid.

This week's question is: how many Vampire Slayers are there currently alive in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel universe?

Send answers to TK at tk@tktv.net with the subject of tvtrivia. Winners will be chosen at random from all the correct answers.

5. Favorite quotes of the week

From My Wife and Kids
Michael: A concert is supposed to be a show. See, I grew up on Michael Jackson. Now, Michael, he put on a show. Man'd be up there dancin' and kickin' and moonwalkin', sweatin' - he'd lose weight. You'd see him lose weight on stage. That's not plastic surgery, he sweated that nose off.

From Two Girls and a Guy
Irene: So, who is this woman? What's her address?
Berg: No, Irene, don't overreact. I mean, we just had coffee.
Irene: And coffee leads to sex. Everyone knows that. God, why do you think there's a Starbucks on every corner of America?

From The X-Files
Mulder: Remember, folks, this is America. Just because you get more votes doesn't mean you win.
